The Assignment

Travel on a sustainable EcoArts Tour, learn from local artists and environmentalists and create one work of art for the EcoRenaissance Gallery. Your piece of art must "convey how your artform can make an impact on combating an environmental issue, while incorporating inspiration from local artists." Then, present in a webinar to share what you learned and discuss viable solutions to help local communities.

The Steps

  1. Fill out the online application. All professional artists are eligible to apply, but our preference is for those currently implementing sustainable aspects in their art. The following art categories with example professions include;
    Architecture architect
    Culinary Arts chef, food stylist, mixologist, food writer
    Digital Arts graphic/web designer, animator, videographer, photographer
    Fashion Design fashion designer, photographer and stylist
    Fine Arts painter, sculptor, artisan
    Industrial Design industrial designer, product developer, exhibit designer, multimedia designer
    Interior Design interior designer
    Liberal Arts poet, author
    Performing Arts choreographer, dancer, musician, actor, singer, composer
  2. Throughout the year, we will select several EcoRenaissance Leaders to be international representatives of their artistic field. Each Leader will be chosen to travel on one 2011 EcoArts Tour in order to complete their assignment and learn about arts and sustainability in another region.
