The Greenbox is located in the northwest of Ireland and is the country’s first ecotourism program. The Greenbox region includes destinations in the counties of Northwest Fermanagh, Leitrim, West Cavan, North Sligo, South Donegal and North West Monaghan. The ecotourism network is easily accessible and located about one hour from Knock Airport and three hours from Dublin. You can experience an abundance of Irish arts and ecotourism amidst the lively villages, quiet countryside, spectacular coastlines and mountains.

Natural Wonders

Explore scenic natural landscapes:

• Marble Arch Caves & Cuilcagh Mountain Park, a part of UNESCO’s Global Geoparks Network
• Lough Erne and Donegal Bay
• Home to wildlife such as the badger, red fox, hedgehog, pine marten,and numerous avian including the endangered bird species, Corncrake

During your ecotour, you can help support organizations in the Greenbox network to conserve the natural and cultural heritage of Ireland, such as:

• The Breesy Centre –sustainable accommodations and activities
• Irish Whale & Dolphin Group –conservation of whales, dolphins and porpoises
• Castle Caldwell Nature Reserve – protection of natural and cultural heritage

• Glassblowing at the Leitrim Sculpture Centre
• Contemporary visual arts at The Model Arts and Niland Gallery
• Art classes and performances at The Dock (and The Leitrim Design House)

Dance and Music

• Take lessons and see performances in Irish step and folk dancing
