Music

Every culture around the world has unique music that reflects their cultural identity and traditions. Many musical genres and instruments are 'more widely known' around the world such as the sitar that is used predominantly in India, the conga drums of Cuba or the bagpipes of Scotland. And a great number of music genres and instruments are considered 'lesser known' to the international community such as the kora of the Western African countries, tamboriles of Uruguay and the pahu of the Polynesian countries. You can learn more about world music from local musicians as experienced on the EcoArts Tours.

Artist Statement ~

Nature and music have in common the ability to evoke great emotion and great passion. The two of these also hold a mathematical component, inclusive of, but not limited to, alignment of the planets and balance of nature in species. We need to honor the inspirational emotion with which music and nature blesses us or we risk losing our spirit. We also need to honor, and preserve, our planet so we do not lose it entirely.
